A Cross Between Robots and Star Wars

I'm not sure what to say about this one, sorry.

You hurt your foot today doing something I've advised you not to do before, but I can't muster up an "I told you so" because a. that would probably be pretty immature and b. if you do that trick again I have REAL reason to advise you not to do it.

Rex

I'm feeling like one of those really out of touch parents today. You had your 100 day party at school and it seems every child brought a treat but you. Maybe I was supposed to DEDUCE that you were to bring something, or the note went home on Thursday or Friday when you weren't there. No matter, the was plenty of sugar to go around. PLENTY. I couldn't believe the list of goods you named off.

Since this is your 104th picture it means that the school year is evening out for you. It's the 104th day of school you've attended (sick days counted), but the 100th day of school for your class. It won't be long before this school actually has more school days than your old school; since your old school took more breaks and had a longer overall school year. I don't know if that's important or not, but I wanted to note it. This district has a much more reasonable school year as far as I'm concerned.

Clone Wars

Grandma took you to Walgreen's after school today and you spotted Ahsoka in the toy aisle. She tattled on you and told me you took out this picture and compared. So, how did I do?

You had your spelling test today and even though I don't know the results yet, you said that you didn't think too many of your peers did as well as you did. It's good to have that kind of confidence, keep it up.

You also had your molars sealed on the dentists recommendation, and apparently, that's the worst thing you've ever tasted.

Star Wars

You love the idea of Star Wars, but can't really commit to the movies yet. They have that Clone Wars show on Cartoon Network, but Ben 10 remains your cartoon of choice. Still, you have four light sabers, two "learn to read" Clone Wars books, several "action" figures from the series, two games for the Wii and more than three Star Wars Lego sets. So Star Wars is very relevant to you, even if you aren't really sure what it's about.

You were disappointed when I revealed that Anakin is Darth Vader, so I tried to redeem myself by telling you that in the end, Darth Vader made the right choice; but you were still upset that Anakin gave into the dark side and now I can't answer your questions as to how that happened because I only watched enough of the movies to know the basics and how much Jar Jar Binks annoyed hard core fans.

(Shhh...I actually kind of liked Jar Jar.)

Yoda Lay Hee Hoooooo

(Yoda Voice): Love you and adore you, much I do.

You told me you had a "test" today, because someone came in and asked you questions. When she asked you how high you can count, you said that you can count to forty. You can actually count much higher, but you said forty. I could go off into a lecture about being confident in yourself, but I think you've had enough of my wisdom for one week. I know I've been especially talky.

It's hard for me to believe you've been in school for two months already. You have matured so much in these two short months and it is increasingly difficult to catch glimpses of my tiny baby anymore. It's bittersweet. Lovely and wonderful, but bittersweet. You are really such a fabulous kid and any time I start to second guess my parenting decisions, all I need to do is look at the boy you are today to realize that I must be doing something right.

Love,

Mom. Who played too much Nintendo DS, again, tonight.

Asajj Ventress

We dog sat at our friend's house this weekend, and while we were there, you played their oldest son's Star Wars - The Clone Wars Wii game. A rated "T" game you didn't think I'd allow, but since you already own the DS version, I didn't think much of it. And really, it was just a bunch of light sabering and back-flipping; nothing super-duper violent that should cause parental concern.

I originally wanted to draw Yoda, because he's all cute and cuddly and well, more recognizable, but there were just too many creases for my weary eyes and every time I'd finish with his face, I was reminded of The World's Ugliest Dog.

I remembered that the only level you completed on the game was the level where you had to fight that bad-a$$ chick, and I knew I could at least manage a recognizable version of her, so there you are; that's how Whateverhernameis Ventress ended up in your lunch box today.

She's a little lopsided and definitely a smidgen too coneheaded, that's for sure, but at least I got the dress right. I think.

Oh, and now we want a dog someday. A Queensland Heeler if we're being exact. Which we are. Because that dog was the best dog EVER, even if she ate your cookies and chips while we weren't looking.
